  2. Fun fact! If you are using the time it takes for the earth to rotate once relative to the sun as the definition of a day, also known as a solar day (which is the standard in time keeping) a day is longer In the winter, and shorter in the summer.

  3. Actually, due to earth’s elliptical orbit, near perihelion (around January) a solar day (noon to noon) is slightly longer than when near aphelion (around July). So, no. Today was not particularly long.
